Events and Happenings

The events carried out in Ashadeep:

All the children celebrated Rakshabandhan and distributed sweets to each other.

All the Non-Teaching staff were taken for a one day picnic to Marve, Aksa Beach.

The Staff underwent many activities and enjoyed a lot. The non-teaching staff had good sharing of their experiences and relaxed.

The Teaching Staff were taken for a two days picnic to Alibaug, Raigad Dist of Maharashtra. All the staff enjoyed the trip and had a great time. The site seeing was awsome. They visited many beaches and historical forts.

All the Ashadeep children celebrated Children's Day in their centres. We provided all the children with gifts and prizes for their good attitude and behaviour. Many of the children promised to study well and improve their behaviour.

After years of hard work and sincre efforts, we could built the upper floor of Sakinaka centre, which has now an Audio-Visual room, Computer class and a Tailoring class.

The upper floor was inaugurated by Mr. Rolf Neuhaus, representing all his team members. He was pleased with the development of the centre.

Mrs. Regine Proebsting inaugurated the Computer and Tailoring class, that will help the comminuty youth to get some professional and vocational training.

We thank all the friends in Germany and specially Mr. Rolf and his team members, for the development of our sakinaka centre.

A Cardiogram (ECG) Machine was installed at the Dindoshi centre dispensary, with the help of Fr. Withake (Loburg).

The machine was inaugurated by Mrs. Regine Proebsting and Mr. Rolf Neuhaus.

The ECG Machine will help the poor and needy people in the community get ECG report by our doctor, as it is very costly outside.

Teachers Training is conducted on regular intervals in collaboration with Dr. BMN College of Home Science and India Centre for Human Rights and Law.

During the summer vacation (Apr -May 2008) holidays in schools and colleges, the children in Ashadeep were trained in various skills like, Mehendi design, Hair Styling, Beautician Embroidary and English Speaking.

The children were engaged in learning these skills during the vacation and have benefitted a lot from the skills as they use it in their day to day life, to keep themselves up to date, as well as help other children in their community.

Ashadeep Children enjoyed their Holiday Camp at Aksa Beach, Mumbai during the summer school vacations, 2008.

The children were sent to the camp in three groups, with around 75 children in each group and 10 staff to taek care of them.

The children had number of activities during the camp and a healthy way of life.

Mrs. Monika Heidrich visited Ashadeep Mumbai in March 2008. She is the Human Resource Manager, with . She visited Ashadeep, Mumbai, to have a look of the Computer Education programme, supported by Astaro company. Mrs. Heidrich personally visited all the seven centres of Ashadeep, and interacted with the staff and children.

The Students of the Computer Education Programme, got an opportunity to interact with Mrs. Heidrich, and also to know about the formation of the company and other details. Students presented a PowerPoint slide show, to Mrs. Heidrich, thanking her and Astaro, Internet Securities Company for supporting the Computer Education Programme, which has changed their outlook of life, and are able to now find better job opportunities.

We thank Mrs. Monika Heidrich for visiting Ashadeep, Mumbai and encouraging our children. We are thankful to Astaro, Internet Securities company and all it's members for providing such an important knowledge of Computers to our childen.

Dr. Alfons is a dentist in Germany. In march 2008 Dr. Alfons accompanied one of his cousin, Mrs. Regine Proebsting, who is one of our kind member from Germany.

Dr. Alfons, conducted dental check ups for the children and staff in all the seven centres of Ashadeep. He suggested the care and treatment needed for each one of them. This dental check helped the children and staff a lot.

We thank Dr. Alfons for conducting these checkups and providing his valuable guidance and suggestions.

It is our pleasure to have Rev. Fr. Norbert Kleyboldt, the head of Ashadeep, Muenster, Germany with us from 28^th Dec 2007 to 1^st Jan 2008. In his short visit, he visited all the centres of Ashadeep, and spoke to all the children and staff. We could celebrate the New Year, on 1^st Jan 2008, at Marve, Mumbai with Fr. Kleyboldt, with performances from the children and staff.

Fr. Kleyboldt, encouraged all of us with his presence to continue this noble work of helping the poor and the needy children.

We the children, staff and all the trustees of Ashadeep, Mumbai thank Fr. Kleyboldt for visiting us and making it a great remembrance.

The staff and children of Ashadeep, celebrated Christmas, on 15^th Dec 2007. At Shakti centre the children organised and performed dances, skit, and musical show. Santa Claus wished all the children Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. All the kindergarten children got toys, sweets and snacks packets. Whereas all other children got snacks packets and sweets.

Mrs. Anushree Bhadury (Chairperson - Ashadeep, Mumbai) and Mr. Vinod Tanna addressed the children and the staff and gave their Best Wishes. Our German friends too enjoyed the celebration. The programme was full of Joy, Learning and Enthusiasm.
